I’m Adrian Waithe, the other half of the Waithe team. While Sammy comes up with the ideas, it usually falls to me to figure out the details. I’m the one who works with the nuts and bolts of our operation. When I worked in New York, a mentor of mine always used to say : “talk minus action = zero”.

That has always stuck with me, and we’ve realized that in order to live up to our goal of placing service at the heart of everything we do, we really have to live it. Our day to day operations have to show how we take this seriously.

Our Order Delivery Process

We have created an Order Delivery Team that handles all aspects of your order from inception to delivery and beyond. This is anchored in the 3 roles representing each part of the delivery process: Our Product Delivery Manager, Sabrina, our Production Delivery Assistant, Mihai Patrascu, and our Customer Service Manager Anderson. Sabrina, Mihai and Anderson champion the interests of their respective interests in a single team to ensure that all relative priorities are recognised – sales, production and the customer respectively.

We want to make sure that when you place an order with us, you don’t have to worry.

Sabrina Pifferi, Product Delivery Manager

Ciao, I am Sabrina. I am the Product Delivery Manager, as well as the sales manager for Italy. I'm responsible for ensuring that orders are delivered on time and to maintain our quality standards.

Originally from the medieval hill city of Pitigliano in Tuscany, I studied accountancy and began work in a local accounting firm. However, a chance job offer meant that I entered the natural stone business 15 years ago when I took a job with the Saturnia quarry and have stayed there ever since. Having spent 15 years with this material, I know the quarry inside and out and I use this information to best serve our customers by ensuring that whatever we send to them is the finest examples of what we have.

I am also an expert on commercial projects having worked for many years delivering some special and highly prestigious works for our clients.

I have always stayed on with this quarry through thick and thin, because I have a passion for our beautiful stone here and I am proud to be part of the wonderful team. All of us live locally in the area and have been together as a part of this place for many years. My experience with stone, attention to detail and above all my passion for the work helps me to ensure that Saturnia will move from strength to strength.

Simone Raffaelli, Production Under Boss

Welcome to Saturnia, I’m Simone Raffaelli and I am the Production Under Boss of the Saturnia Quarry. I am responsible for our production teams and ensure not only that we find and excavate the requisite quantities of stone for our customers but that we respect the land and nature around us in appropriately replenishing our property at Saturnia.

What is important to me, and to all of us here at Saturnia, is that the land is respected and that we preserve this place for our future generations. To that end, we extract the stone following a carefully managed extraction plan which is monitored for environmental impact as well as the safety of our workforce and the future of the quarry.

We want to walk you through the 10 step process of what happens when you make an order with us so that you can be totally comfortable that you will get the product which you asked for.

All Workers

  1. At initial contact with our Sales representative, website or online Customer Service Representative, we will obtain all the information that we need to satisfy your order.
  2. In the case where you are buying an actual available stock item and the actual item can be displayed, you may jump directly to step 7
  3. Should require it, we can arrange a visit to the quarry to see our material and select exactly what you require, or provide you with sample photographs and physical samples. Our samples will indicate the general appearance of a finished product and the expected range of appearance regarding he colouring, the vein pattern, the physical structure and the surface finish.
  4. On placing an order, our Delivery Team will spring into action. The Delivery Team’s aim is to get all orders out in priority, on time and, above all, at the level of quality expected by our customers.
  5. The Delivery Team will monitor progress continually and can update you on the order status when requested, as well as keeping an eye out for potential blocking issues so as to take quick remedies.
  6. We observe quality control through a two-step process.
    1. During production of an order, our PUB is responsible for monitoring the quality control measures which we have introduced to ensure that the standard of the material has been maintained as agreed with the client. Quality issues or any factors that might affect the order, such as unusual variations or defects, are flagged at this stage.
    2. Once production is complete, the order is handed over to our Product Delivery Manager and a second quality check is made, to ensure that we are satisfied.
  7. The ready order is then photographed, and footage is recorded and sent to you, so that you can see the material which you will be receiving and ensure that you are happy with it.
  8. Once you have given us your approval, then the order is shipped.
  9. Shortly after you have received the order, our local sales representative wil be in touch to ensure that you received everything you asked for, and that you are happy with the level of service you received.
